The Beginning to the Chi Iota Legacy!
On June 25th, 1982, Sorors Virginia Glover and Susie James of the Gamma Zeta Chapter decided to form another collegiate chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in Charleston, SC. That Collegiate chapter was called Chi Iota and was located on the College of Charleston campus.
Soror Eunice Thomas was elemental in getting the Chi Iota Chapter established. She went on to become the 19th Grand Basileus of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Soror Virginia Glover was the undergraduate advisor for the charter members. The first president was Soror Octavia Gethers. The eight charter members included Soror Octavia Gethers, Soror Sheila McCoy, Soror Cheryl Milligan, Soror Pamela Hutchingson, Soror Juanita Butler, Soror Louise, Belinda Hudson and Rita Bass.
